In most offices these days the use of cctv camera security systems are used, they are the cheaper alternatives and very outdated from current technology. They still function but only as good as the operator who is monitoring the hallways and lifts that they cover.

Closed Circuit Television is what cctv stands for, so this means that footage cannot be zoomed into for better viewing. This method of cctv camera security systems would still be used in prisons and places where you need to see who is ringing the bell for entrance or at entrances or exits where it is indeed necessary to see who is there.
 
Schools also still use cctv camera security systems on their quadrants as these days a lot of problems are carried over to the children and they land up in trouble at schools too taking their frustrations out on other children. Unfortunately the use of cctv camera security systems can only offer so much information and protection. If they are not installed high enough they are easily vandalised by the children themselves or by outside vandals who may steal them for money.

With most places using cctv camera security systems as some form of security, this offers nothing in guaranteeing that nothing will occur. If for some reason there are cctv camera security systems on a school premises, with the added visual of a security person in charge, this would lessen the amount of crime or unsavoury behaviour on the premises. Once again, there are no guarantees of safety even with a security guard on duty patrolling the areas.
 
The Difference
 
There is a big difference between cctv camera security systems and security video camera system. While the one is the eye, the other is the memory of what has been seen. This recorded information is kept in safes for a specific amount of time, from as little as a day at a time to permanently. This factor just depends on what type of business is using the system.
 
Not all businesses require the usage of any cctv camera security systems in there immediate working space,  while if it is in a big shared building, the camera would be at the front office desk by the attendant who has to let you sign in or out.  This is still just to monitor who comes in and when and when they leave.
 
Unfortunately people having to sign in without the use of cctv cameras can still commit offences, as their faces are not being recorded or captured for identity purposes, so the security serves no purpose at all.
