Some of these personal finance tips you may have heard before and others you may not but even if you have heard some of these personal finance tips before they still bear repeating. Good advice always needs to be repeated and that especially goes for personal finance tips that are not only solid advice but words to live by as well.

Beware Of Shoes

If you are a married man then there is one very practical personal finance tip I can give you that I suggest you listen to. Beware of the combination of your wife and shoes. When you first get married it starts out as a few nice pairs of her shoes and then some sneakers for recreation. Suddenly every new outfit for work requires a new pair of shoes. But she already has two pairs of black shoes. Ah, but not like this particular new pair of black shoes. Suddenly you are wading through a sea of shoes just to get out your front door in the morning and the pile grows constantly. So, as much as it is a personal sanity tip as it is a personal finance tips. Follow it guys, trust me.

Change Your Bulbs

I recently changed all of my regular light bulbs to the new fluorescent bulbs that use up a fraction of the power but still give the same amount of light. Why is this a personal finance tip? Because I spent $35 on new bulbs for my entire house that will save me between $50 and $60 a month on my electric bill. Find ways around your house to save money and you will soon see your savings account grow.

Avoid High Interest

Credit is nice but if you get credit to buy a $500 item, and the interest rate is 25%, you could wind up paying almost $1,500 for that item by the time you are done paying for it. If it can wait then save the $500 of your own money and pay for the item in cash. If it really cannot wait then do anything you can to avoid a store credit card to buy an item like that. In the world of personal finance tips the tip to avoid high interest rates is probably the best tip you will get.
